On bookish yarn projects #10

“She had put despair and fear aside, as if they were garments she did not choose to wear.”
 - George R.R. Martin

This Game of Thrones inspired crochet doll is the perfect toy for any young fantasy reader or the perfect start to a fantasy scene for display. With many other similarly-styled dolls to begin work on next, you'll have crocheting during endless seasons of Game of Thrones.

If crocheted literary figures are your passions and these aren't nearly enough for you, check out GeekyHooker's blog and new book Literary Yarns.

On bookish yarn projects #4

The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid.
This darling little figure is a perfect likeness of Jane Austen. She’s full of wit, optimism, and plenty of stuffing. You too can crochet your own Jane Austen with this cheap pattern and the two of you can enjoy muddy walks to Netherfield, gossip about your sister’s newest love interest, or a warm fire and a good novel.

On bookish yarn projects #3

If you’re concerned that people on the subway will judge you for reading the latest K.C. Cole book or you just want to keep your books a little better protected, this is the crochet project for you. It’s easy and quick and require just a little yarn. The pattern is free from the Mollie Makes blog.

On bookish yarn projects #2

I shall take the heart. For brains do not make one happy, and happiness is the best thing in the world.”
This little heartbreaker is the most adorable Tin Man you’ll ever see. You can quickly crochet him with this cheap Ravelry pattern and then show him off to all your friends. His heart is my favorite part of this pattern - it gives our Tin Man a pop of color and a sweet look. And his hat is adorably ingenious and looks like so much fun to crochet. Eventually, I’ll get around to this project and crochet my own little army of Tin Men to march out into the world and warm everyone’s hearts.
